Device Compatibility & Troubleshooting
QR codes
Most current iPhone and Android camera apps can scan a QR code. Open the camera, point it steadily at the full code in good light, and tap the link that appears. If it does not scan, clean the surface, increase lighting, and move the camera slightly farther away.
NFC tap
NFC availability and antenna position vary by phone. Unlock the phone, remove a thick or metal case if needed, and hold the phone’s NFC area near the marked CareID tap point for a moment. On many iPhones the antenna is near the top edge; on Android phones it is often near the upper or central back.
Digital CareID
The owner opens or copies the permanent emergency link after signing in to My CareID. A connected device and compatible browser are required to load the current online emergency guide or approved profile.
If the link does not open
- Try another compatible browser or connected phone.
- Turn Wi-Fi off and try cellular data, or do the reverse.
- Do not delay calling 911 because a CareID page will not load.
- Report damaged, lost, or non-working access points through CareID Support.
