Medical Review Process

CareID Alert publishes general emergency guides designed to help bystanders and first responders quickly understand practical safety information. These guides are educational emergency-reference content and are not individualized medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for calling 911.

James Jackson, MD reviews CareID guide content for medical accuracy and suitability for bystanders and first responders.

How medical review works

  1. CareID prepares or revises a guide under a defined content version.
  2. The medical reviewer evaluates accuracy, emergency thresholds, immediate actions, prohibited actions, and readability for bystanders and first responders.
  3. Required corrections are incorporated before the reviewed version is approved.
  4. The published guide displays the reviewer, review date, and content version only when the reviewed text and published text match.

Current reviewed guide set

The current CareID Community Guide set, content version 2026-08, was medically reviewed by James Jackson, MD, Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine, on August 3, 2026.

This guide set was reviewed for medical accuracy and suitability for bystanders and first responders.

Re-review schedule

Published guides are re-checked at least annually and sooner when major medical guidance changes, a safety concern is identified, or a substantive content revision is made. Minor formatting, accessibility, or presentation changes that do not alter medical meaning may be recorded without requiring a new medical review.

Review status

A guide marked Medically reviewed has been reviewed for the specific content version displayed on that guide. A guide marked Medical review pending has not yet been approved for its current published version.

  • August 3, 2026 — Content version 2026-08: The nine current CareID Community Guides were medically reviewed by James Jackson, MD, Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine.
