How CareID Works
CareID places a selected Condition-Ready emergency guide or an approved Personalized profile behind a visible QR code, NFC tap point where included, or permanent Digital CareID link.
NO APP, NO SUBSCRIPTION, NO HELPER LOGIN. A helper opens the current emergency information in a compatible browser without a CareID account.
1. Choose a format
- CareID Beacon: wearable QR + NFC access with a CareID Card backup and matched Digital CareID.
- CareID Card: wallet-size QR + NFC access with writable backup information and matched Digital CareID.
- Digital CareID: one permanent emergency link managed securely in My CareID.
2. Choose the information level
- Condition-Ready: general guidance for the selected condition with no personal profile.
- Personalized: owner-approved contacts, allergies, medications, communication needs, safe-return details, and responder instructions.
3. Complete setup in My CareID
Choose the emergency guide. For Personalized CareID, edit the private profile, preview what responders may see, and submit it for review. Current responder information remains active while an update is reviewed.
4. Scan, tap, or open
A helper uses the CareID access point. Immediate danger and emergency actions should always take priority over reading secondary information.
5. Maintain and test
Owners should keep approved information current, test their available QR, NFC, and Digital CareID access, and report lost or damaged products promptly.
Community Guides
Public Community Guides provide general bystander and caregiver education. They are separate from purchased Condition-Ready guides and approved Personalized profiles.
