What happens when someone scans a CareID?

A QR scan opens the selected guide in a compatible phone browser. Personalized CareID also displays the personal information the owner has chosen and published. Helpers do not need a CareID app or account. CareID Card also supports compatible NFC tapping.

What’s free, and what costs money?

The free wallpaper is a lock-screen QR to general guidance. Bracelet and Card are paid physical IDs; Digital CareID is a paid digital format. Condition-Ready guidance is included with paid formats. Personal emergency information is a separate paid option. See each product page for what is included.

Does it need internet?

Opening an online guide or published profile requires internet access. The Bracelet’s engraved information and the Card’s written information can be read offline.

Can I personalize later?

Eligible CareIDs can be upgraded in My CareID while keeping the same CareID and QR. Secure ownership verification is required. Edit your details privately, preview the emergency page and confirm what you publish.

Who can see my personal information?

You edit privately in My CareID. Once information is published for emergency access, anyone with the QR code, NFC access point or emergency link can view it. Share only the details you want available in that setting.
